Kim Zamjahn
Hi! My name is Kim Zamjahn. I teach primarily flute and piano at my home studio in Oakley, although because of my experience teaching in the schools, I also teach clarinet and sax, and violin and cello. I have been teaching for over 25 years using a blend of Suzuki and Traditional Methods on the flute and piccolo, and on the piano. My goal is to instill a love for music in my students, even though not everyone will become a professional musician. I want my students to develop a lifelong knowledge, appreciation and love for music. I help my students achieve this by mastery on their instrument. I am a big proponent of the "mother tongue" approach to develop true musicianship through a combination of ear training, technical exercises, solo studies, ensemble playing, and theory curriculum (through the Certificate of Merit programs). If you want to know more about Suzuki philosophy, please visit www.suzukiassociation.org for more information.
